Vasily Golyshev (Laboratoire de Mathématiques de Versailles) : Gauss's theory of genera and the L-derivatives of elliptic curves

Séminaire « Géométrie algébrique »
Salle Kampé de Feriet (Bâtiment M2, 1er étage)

Classical results on quadratic fields can be extended to higher-degree number fields, or, in a different direction, to double covers in higher dimensions. Yet another analogy views two-pointed schemes as 'zero-dimensional Calabi-Yau varieties'. Guided by this analogy, we prove a counterpart of Gauss's genus theorem for elliptic curves over Q.
This is joint work with Neil Dummigan, Rob de Jeu, and Matt Kerr.
